Jun 07, 2019 · If your power meter has switchable maximum ranges (eg 5 or 50 watts) choose a transmitter power output level that coincides with that. Use a constant carrier mode such as CW or FM when you do this test. And, if your transceiver has an RF power indicator, verify that against the reading you're getting on the external meter. They should be fairly close. If an accurate 50Ω dummy load is available in the shack, we can measure RF power by measuring the RF voltage developed across the load. If a calibrated oscilloscope is available, we can connect our 10X scope probe across the dummy load, apply a CW signal from the transmitter, and measure the peak-to-peak voltage V p-p. Measure the width, height, and depth in 3 places. For width, use the smallest measurement to the nearest 1/8". For height, use the longest measurement to the nearest 1/8” For inside mounts, we will take any necessary deductions for clearance; For outside mounts, consider adding overlapping width and height to ensure the entire window is covered
